Word Empowerment Cathedral Leadership

WEC is blessed to have leadership who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will.

The following are brief bios of our Pastors.

Archbishop Manuel Demetrius Bellamy, DD, CED, STD

Founder and Senior Pastor

Archbishop Manuel Demetrius Bellamy became the Senior pastor of the Deliverance Revival Center United Church of God in September 1980. He began his licensed ministry in December 1969 within the Church of God in Christ and was ordained in March 1981 within the UCOG. The archbishop was consecrated to the Apostleship and Episcopacy in 1992 and founded the DRC Fellowship of Churches. This expanded from the Northern States to the South and then abroad in The Continent of Africa, Philippians and the Carribean. He sat under some very notable giants, and gleaned from them, enormous leadership skills. too many to list in this page. His complete Bio speaks of each one.

Always desiring challenges and having a quest for knowledge, he was introduced to the International Communion of the Holy Christian Orthodox Church. Where he was incardinated into holy orders in 2002 as Deaconate, Priest and then Consecrated to the Episcopacy in Succession. in 2004 he would eventually be enthroned to the archbishop and in later years was appointed to the Metropolitan archbishop and placed as the presider over the 1st. Province of the HCOC. by the Patriarch Timothy Paul.

Prior to this, he served as Evangelist, Deacon, Singer, Director of the choir within three churches from his youth to adulthood, at St. Paul UCOG in Brooklyn, NY; New Bethel Tabernacle in Queens, NY; Deliverance Evangelistic Center in Brooklyn, NY.  successively.

The attributes that best describe Archbishop Bellamy, is his burning desire to lead our congregation with worship, strong teaching and preaching for developing strong faith in the believers.

He places emphasis on prayer, proper exegesis of biblical study and family fellowship with members and others within the body of Christ. To care about the needs of those around them, desiring to connect and serve humanity. Archbishop takes worship and preaching very seriously, spending a great deal of his time with weekly presentations to train clergy and the faith-based community about the benefit of understanding some traditions and the ancient faith of the church.

He served within the United States Armed Forces for six years. He received a Christian Education Doctorate from Tampa Bible College in Florida. A Divinity Doctorate from Faith Bible Institute in Florida and a Sacred Theology Doctorate from Springfield College and Theological Seminary in Massachusetts.

Archbishop and his wife have partnered in developing churches and many of spiritual children around the world.

Dr. Neva Renay Bellamy, C.PSY. D., MS, APRN, PMHNP, ThD.

Founder and Senior Presbyter

Dr. Neva Bellamy began her Christian walk in 1971 at the St. Paul United Church of God, her home church, pastored by the late Reverend L. Edward Singley.  After his passing, she served under the permanent successor, the late Dr. Ernestine Shriver. She had her apprenticeship as an assistant financial recording Secretary. Having no formal academic training in this field, it was from this experience that she developed her eventual Finance officer skills. Pastor Bellamy faithfully served in this capacity until her husband, the Archbishop Manuel Demetrius, began pastoring, in September 1980.

She served in the capacity of many ministries within only two churches until this day, which is a rarity.  Under the DRC ministry, she served as choir director, president of the Sisterhood ministry, financial controller, and clergy.  The two greatest passions of her life within the Cathedral have continue to be, the sisterhood ministry. Her university education in this field have been quite resourceful as well as her genuine love for her spiritual daughters.

Dr. Bellamy's desire is exhibited in the teaching that maintains that the Ladies desire a sincere relationship with Christ and that they respect themselves and each other. The second one is the financial health of the church. She has a staff of four that work with her, as she prayerfully shares and pours this passion among them as well. As she manages the finances of WEC, it is important to her that each parishioner have a positive experience when giving to the Word Empowermenr Cathedral. As a member gives, it is her hope that the WEC is functioning efficiently, and that each giver become blessed financially and gain wealth, according to 2nd. Corinthians 9:6-7.

Her Motto: A ministry has a business component that needs capital to operate effectively. It she was to add an additional passion, it would be her passion for those that suffer and struggle with mental Illness and life stresses. Her professional practice in this field have made her greatly sought after for counseling, lecturing and consulting.  Dr. Bellamy was ordained and assigned to the Pastorate in December 1997 and served on the Council of Elders within the DRC Fellowship Churches.

She was consecrated within holy orders as deaconate in January 2004 and priest in May 2006 in Succession by the Patriarch Archbishop Timothy Paul and Holy Synod of the International Communion of the Holy Christian Orthodox Church.
